You might remember a while back we showed you how to play all your favourite Game Boy Advance games through your iPhone 6. Well, today we’re going to show you the ultimate trick to guarantee an end to boredom when out and about. That’s right, today we’re going to tell you how to play Nintendo DS games on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus by using a website called Retroarch.
By using ’emulator’ software, you can convince any available game ROMs that they are running on a Nintendo DS, when in truth they’re running on special software running on top of your iOS host operating system. It’s a clever little trick that also means you don’t have to Jailbreak your phone (which we seriously advise against).
We’ve drawn up a handy guide to show you how you can be enjoying all the best Nintendo DS games on your iOS system:
To download Retroarch/ NDS4iOS/ SNES4iOS/ Provenance alternative for iOS 8 without jailbreak, follow these simple steps:
- Launch Safari on your iOS device
- Go to pgyer.com/Retroarch
- Tap on ‘Install App’ button under the black app icon
- Tap ‘Confirm’ on the popup button that asks you to confirm if you want to download Retroarch.
Following your download, you will need to download Nintendo DS ROMs, although we won’t be telling you where to find them, what with downloading ROMs being considered illegal and all. However a cursory search of Google will tell you everything you need to know.
Once you have downloaded a few DS ROMs to your PC, you can transfer them to your iPhone by emailing them to yourself. By uploading them to a file sharing app like Dropbox or OneDrive, you can use the ‘Open In…’ option on your iPhone to open the ROM in NDS4iOS. Now that you’ve downloaded it, you can sit back and enjoy some of the finest games the Nintendo DS has to offer, all while out and about. Say goodbye to boredom for ever!
