NoMirror: The Solution to Selfie Mirror Images!

By | June 6, 2015

If you ever get frustrated by the mirror image that you get when you take pictures with your iPhone’s front camera, especially when you shoot selfies, then we’ve got some good news for you.

There is a jailbreak tweak that will eliminate this problem. NoMirror for iOS devices will prevent the mirroring effect of pictures that you take from the front camera. Problem solved!

Your iPhone’s front camera is programmed to show you a mirror image. This is especially noticeable when you take portrait photos. This can be a little confusing and very annoying since it can screw up your perspective of the shot which could prevent you from living in the moment and spontaneously capturing that great shot that sums it all up.

NoMirror will stop iPhone from doing its automatic thing and flipping the images taken with the front camera. Once you install this tweak, you can operate it without worrying about playing with settings or controls, because you will be able to access it in you iOS device’s camera app. Installing the tweak requires jailbreaking your device using a jailbreaking tool. If you’re using Windows, then you can access the Taig jailbreak tool. If you’re using OS X, then you can access PP tool.

This handy tweak was created by andrewwiik, who’s got some other great apps and tweaks that we have reviewed. You can access the tweak from andrewwiik’s Cydia repository. To get started with this tweak, you will first have to add his Cydia link to your Cydia sources. Go to Cydia and then:

Unfortunately there is no jailbreaking solution for iOS 8.3 but the team that brought us the TaiG Jailbreak tool is hard at work to develop one. In the meantime, if you have ioS 8.3, you can downgrade to iOS 8.1.2 and downgrade your iTunes to 12.0.1.

Now you can take the pictures you want to take without that irritating mirror effect, so have fun and happy selfie snapping!
